Insect and arachnid specimens deposited in the Lyman Entomological Museum, McGill University.

Sampling Description

Study Extent

Digitization of the Diptera, Coleoptera, Hymenoptera, Neuroptera and Araneae from the Lyman Entomological Collection (LEMQ).

Sampling

Create new record in collection database using Biota 2 and populate fields with the information on all attached specimens and determination labels.

Quality Control

Label and identification data were entered using control vocabularies and species names were checked for spelling and synonyms. All fields have been filled in a standardized way.

This dataset includes specimens in the collection of all Diptera (240,000+), all Canadian Neuroptera (2,700+), Canadian Coleoptera(2,600+) from the families Buprestidae and Dermestidae, Canadian Hymenoptera(2,900+) from the families Eumenidae and Vespidae, Araneae (4,500+).
