Collection Chordata of the Natural History Museum Rotterdam. Amphibians: Mostly specimens from Europe, Asia Minor and the Middle East. Reptiles: Mostly European species, with some material from Asia Minor and the Middle East. Birds: Mounted specimens, study skins, skeletons and eggs, mainly from European species, some Indonesian material; skeletal material of gulls and waders. Cartilaginous Fish: European species, mostly from the North Sea. Bony Fish: Mainly European species, mostly from the North Sea and Western Atlantic. Mammals (fossil) : Representative collection of mostly Pliocene, Miocene and Pleistocene material from the Netherlands and the bottom of the North Sea. Rich in marine mammals. Mammals (recent): Study skins, mounts and skeletal material of Western Palearctic species, and some material from elsewhere (Indonesia).
